Lithuanian Manors Summer School
LITHUANIAN MANORS SUMMER SCHOOL
The 6th Lithuanian Manors Summer School is underway, focusing this year on the theme of “Manor Heritage Research”.
Inspired by England’s The Attingham Trust, the project was founded in collaboration with the Lithuanian Society of Art Historians, Panemunė Castle (VDA), and the Vilnius Picture Gallery (LNDM). It aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice, fostering vital dialogue between researchers and heritage owners. The 2026 program combines theoretical lectures, practical workshops, and site visits—ranging from urban residences to country estates—covering architectural, historical, genealogical, and parkland studies, as well as moveable heritage. Ultimately, the initiative seeks to raise the prestige of cultural heritage and use professional research to educate the wider public.
