EARLY MUSIC CONCERT “SARBIEVIUS’S JOURNEY TO ROME”
October 2 @ 16:00 - 17:00
EARLY MUSIC FESTIVAL CONCERT “SARBIEVIUS’S JOURNEY TO ROME”
This musical program offers an intriguing 17th-century journey, tracing the footsteps of Motiejus Kazimieras Sarbievijus—a Jesuit-educated poet and one of the most renowned Latin-language writers of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The concert brings to life an era where Northern European intellectual depth intertwined with the opulence and emotional intensity of the Italian Baroque.
The delicate soprano voice of Rūta Vox, the masterful baroque violin playing of Laura Šarova, and the robust, colorful *basso continuo* foundation (bass and harpsichord) created by Vilimas Norkūnas will transport listeners to the churches, academies, and salons of 17th-century Europe.
Embark on a journey through memory and history, where the spoken word transforms into sound and the past becomes a living present.
