UGNIE, SEK PASKUI MANE | FIRE WALK WITH ME
22:30 „Fire Walk With Me | Ugnie, sek paskui mane“ pradžia
As darkness falls, the towers and ancient walls of Panemunė Castle sink into the silence of the evening. This is where an extraordinary journey begins — “Fire Walk With Me | Ugnie, sek paskui mane”.
This immersive architectural spectacle invites audiences to follow the fire through the castle grounds and experience history, landscape and light in an entirely new way. Four firework architectures unfold across different spaces, creating a continuous narrative of mystery, transformation, courage and liberation. Inspired by Baltic folklore, legends and the ideas of 17th-century Lithuanian military engineer Kazimieras Semenavičius, the event brings together historical heritage and contemporary artistic interpretation. Each stop becomes a world of its own, where fire, smoke, sound and architecture create fleeting yet unforgettable spectacles.
Throughout the evening, audiences are invited not simply to observe the action from a single location, but to become part of it — moving along a specially designed route, discovering new spaces and following the increasingly powerful dramaturgy of the spectacle. The journey begins with an interpretation of the mystical legend of the fern flower, continues through a landscape marked by columns of fire, reaches the majestic scene of the castle defenders, and finally erupts into a climax in which fire takes over the entire space. This is an evening where fireworks are not a backdrop to the experience, but the primary language of storytelling.
The project was born during an international creative workshop that brought together students and lecturers from universities across the Baltic States, Northwestern Europe and Finland. The creative team was led by architects Friedrich Barth and Prof. dr. Fritz Barth.
